Right-sized and concise, this part-time home combines new, bold, and stylized DMc design initiatives with existing art and furnishings collected over the years, edited as a perfect snapshot of New York City life for the high-level executive homeowner. Balanced textures and patterns meet elevated artworks that create a reverberated point-of-view. Purposely designed upholstery pieces interplay as comfortable and livable, doubling as sculptural and engaging. Highlights include an inverse trayed ceiling with double lantern fixtures mimicking double Lantern House bay windows, DMc custom floating shelves over antique sideboard, and contrast wallcoverings throughout. Fun anecdote: The overarching design challenge was how to elegantly piece a sentimental 7ft giraffe painting into the tightly-knit puzzle.
